              HOW I COACH CLIENTS

Because each Coach has his or her own style of coaching, I thought you might be interested in knowing how I coach, what I expect of my clients and what my clients can expect of me.

              1.            My Clients Are Great
I am blessed with the privilege of working with my clients; I want and enjoy each of them.  They are all growing and I am honored to assist them in developing the personal and professional lives they desire.

              2.            I Expect Your Best
Hiring a coach says that you are probably ready to be your very best.  If you aren’t doing the best that you can, I’ll ask you to.  If you feel that isn't possible at this moment, I’ll understand and do what you need to be heard, appreciated and helped back into the groove.

              3.            I Make Direct Requests
At times I’ll make a direct request, like “I request that you accomplish X by the end of the month.”  You may accept the request, counteroffer (say what you can do) or decline (rare).  No matter what you decide, I believe that you will be doing what is in your best interest.

              4.            I Share My Hunches, Inklings or Intuitions
If you are open to it, I will gladly share with you information I receive in the form of hunches, inklings or intuitions.  If you are not open to it, please let me know.  Please use only what rings true for you and discard the rest.

              5.            I Don’t Miss Much
When I hear a funny tone in your voice, or hear you say something that I just can’t “get”, I’ll ask you about it.  Often, it is these small moments that offer the chance to understand or resolve something.  I don’t negatively confront; I will invite you to look at whatever it is so that you can benefit.

              6.      I Give Lifework, Fieldwork or Playwork (Whatever you prefer to call your action steps)
I usually ask that you come up with 3-5 goals or actions to work on between each session.  If this is too much, say so.  If you want more, say so.

              7.        You Are Expected to Use Me, Not Depend On Me
As your coach, I am a resource and presence for you to use to your best advantage.  I have an almost unlimited amount of compassion, love, empathy, understanding and strength for you.  I also have a lot of thoughts and ideas that I am willing to share in this co-creative partnership.  I ask that my clients use me as this kind of a resource, but not to let themselves become dependent on me or the coaching.

              8.        I Am Your Sponsor
I hold your dreams and desires in the highest regards and therefore I am willing to remind you of them when you forget or aren’t able to focus on them.  I will shine a light on your dreams and desires so that you can focus on them again and create a life that is a true expression of you.

              9.        I Am Here
I want to hear it all.  If you have a personal problem, are upset with something (even me or the coaching), are just starting to realize something, can’t wait to share an insight or breakthrough, call or email me.
